The author, who is a poet, Kurihara Sadako, was a survivor of the explosion of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima in 1945.<\/p>\n<p>At Christmas, God gives us his Son, the Word of life. The Mystery of Christmas reminds us of the words of Saint Paul : the whole creation  and ourselves are groaning every day in one great act of giving birth to the Kingdom of God. (cf. Rom 8\/22-23)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<em>An untold story of the atomic bomb.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It was night time in the basement of a building, now in ruins.<\/p>\n<p>Victims of the atomic bomb crammed into the dark room.<\/p>\n<p>There wasn\u2019t even one single candle.<\/p>\n<p>The overwhelming smell of fresh blood, the stench of death,<\/p>\n<p>The nauseating odour of humanity, the moaning\u2026<\/p>\n<p>And miraculously, out of all of this, came a voice: \u201cthe baby is coming!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In this hellish place, at this very moment<\/p>\n<p>A young woman had gone into labour!<\/p>\n<p>In the dark, without even one single match, what could be done?<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly, a raised voice said: \u201cI am a midwife, I will deliver\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It was the voice of a seriously injured woman, who was groaning with pain a minute before.<\/p>\n<p>And so it was that in this hell a new life saw the day,<\/p>\n<p>And so it was, that this midwife covered in blood died before the new day dawned.<\/p>\n<p>I want to bring forth new life,<\/p>\n<p>I want to bring forth new life,<\/p>\n<p>Even if this means losing my own life.<div id=\"attachment_2568\" style=\"width: 170px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2568\" class=\"lazyload  aligncenter size-full wp-image-2568\" src=\"http:\/\/site2020.marieauxiliatrice.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/noel_2010_4-18k-2.jpg\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/site2020.marieauxiliatrice.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/noel_2010_4-18k-2.jpg\" alt=\"christmas\" title=\"christmas\" class=\"lazyload caption\" align=\"center\" width=\"160\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27160%27%20height%3D%27158%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20160%20158%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27160%27%20height%3D%27158%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marieauxiliatrice.catholique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/noel_2010_4-18k-2-66x66.jpg 66w, https:\/\/www.marieauxiliatrice.catholique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/noel_2010_4-18k-2.jpg 160w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-orig-sizes=\"(max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2568\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">christmas<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<h2>There is no greater love than to give one\u2019s life.
